Tuft

Tufted carpets consist of a pile and a back. The pile is inserted in the back (primary back) through a system of needles.

Each carpet receives a specific look according to the raw material used for the yarn, its thickness, colours and structure.
Later on, a second back (secondary back) will be added to the carpet in order to fix the yarn and to enhance the comfort of the carpet.

Tufted carpets are broadloom carpets (400 cm or 500 cm).

Different kinds of structure (velvet, loop pile, shag, …) contribute to the aesthetic outlook. Sometimes plain carpets will be printed in order to look more personal.

Commercial requirements (residential or contract use, frequency of use, style, aspect and colour) will determine the kind of fibre and yarn, the pile and the back to be used.

At first sight, it is almost impossible to spot any difference between residential and contract broadloom.  Yet the underlying technology gives an added value to contract broadloom: fire norms, stain-repellent treatment, solidity, easy maintenance, advices from a specialised team.

With more than 30 years of experience in the contract market, Lano can give you countless references worldwide in hotels, office buildings, theatres, libraries, shops, …
